Facebook In 60 Years (aka Seth Godin Is An Idiot)

[source Straight From My Brain]
I saw this image a few days ago. I thought it was kind of funny, but didn’t bother posting it on Awesomeology.
Today Seth Godin (a true marketing genius with an amazing blog that I read daily) posted the photo without providing a link to the creator of the image. In fact, he gave a link to someone else instead!
I never thought I’d say this, but Seth…you’re an idiot.
Look, it’s not that difficult. The image was created by Straight From My Brain. Look at the lower right hand corner of the image…it says it there.
Not only did you not link to him, but you actually cropped off the domain name when you posted the image. For all the time that guy took to make the image, there’s no bigger jerk move than what you did. Straight From My Brain is not a huge site and it could have been a really big deal if you linked to him. And he deserved a link from you.
This kind of thing pisses me off because I recently found out that the pricks at eBaum’s World stole some of my original images, cropped off my domain name, and posted them as their own without linking to me.
I wouldn’t have minded if they use the photos…they’re funny and I WANT other sites to feature them. But you HAVE to credit (and link to) the source so the people who like it can go visit the site and, perhaps, become regular visitors.
For all your genius, you blew this one Seth. Big time.
NOTE: It’s all been corrected. See Seth’s comment below…

Foul!
I didn’t crop off anything. I got a link that I believed was legit. There was a photo there. I downloaded it as was, put the link back to the site.
If you have a beef, it was with the first guy, no?
ALSO, the moment I heard that it had an original source, I fixed it.
Idiot? That’s a bit strong, don’t you think?

I guess I did come across a little strong.
The URL is in the bottom right of the image, though. I mean, I wouldn’t expect my dad to notice that, but I would expect that you’d pick up on it.
Regardless, it’s all been righted. Respect.
